Michelle Maskaly is a journalist, content creator and business consultant with editorial, sales, business development, branding and marketing experience. She is based on the East Coast.
Most recently, Michelle served as the editorial director of a B2B trade publication that covered the healthcare packaging industry, where she worked with sales, editorial and production departments to meet client needs. She also wrote a weekly newsletter that featured the best of her daily curated stories across the healthcare industry, as well as represented the magazine at various events. In addition, she sought out new areas of coverage, that would in return, expand the magazine’s reach, as well as bring in new business.
Prior to this she rebuilt a B2B pet industry trade publication from the ground up after it was sold to a new company. As the second employee hired, she influenced not only the editorial and creative direction of the magazine, but also assisted with sales and event production.
Her previous experience includes positions at Fox News Channel, Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg LP, Gannett, Advance Publications, Beckerman PR and Tails Magazine. She has also worked with large and small businesses, chambers of commerce, tourism groups, conferences, associations and private events as a social media marketing, public relations, business and media consultant.
Michelle has top-notch interviewing skills that make a subject, whether it be a high-profile politician or an everyday person, feel at ease. She can quickly go from a trade show to a board meeting without missing a beat. Her diverse background, ability to see the big picture and adaptability make her a unique asset.
As a former two-term president of the New Jersey chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, she has spoken at regional and national conferences, as well as served on their Generation J committee. Michelle has also spoken at national conferences such as BlogPaws and HealthPack, as well as at various local and regional events.
